Joe Venuti, Concord Jazz Festival, mid-1970s?. We attended a lot of concerts at the Concord Jazz Festival in the 70s, thanks to getting free tickets for various reasons. We were sitting right up front for Joe Venuti, a jazz violinist in his 70s. I brought my super-8 sound camera and took a short video of him playing "Sweet Georgia Brown". In those days, such videos were rare. Venuti remains a giant of the jazz violin.
Marianne Faithfull, Kabuki Theater; Slim's, November 1983, ? We saw Marianne twice in the 80s, a few years after her remarkable reinvention with Broken English. She was a star, and she knew it. She was also beautiful. Her second career has lasted for several decades now. She remains a titan. Inspirational verse: "Every time I see your dick I see her cunt in my bed."
