It's understood that pop music is a great place to re-invent yourself. Bruce may be from Jersey, but when he wants, he can sound just like a dust-bowl farmer in the 30s. Meanwhile, everyone at some time or another attempts to imitate Bob Dylan's distinctive singing voice. Not sure how those things are connected, but they got me thinking.

What if Robert Zimmerman of Hibbing, Minnesota hadn't reinvented himself as Woody Guthrie clone Bob Dylan? Would he sound like a character from Fargo? Go ahead, give it a try in the privacy of your own home ... how might "All Along the Watchtower" sound if sung by Marge Gunderson?
