a few words on weeds

true blood and fringe: series premieres

Here come more new shows. Both have potential, both look to be more "Robin shows" than "Steven shows." True Blood is more than Buffy with bare breasts, but is seems much more mundane than I would have expected from someone who said Near Dark was his favorite vampire movie (it's mine, too). Fringe is a melange of other shows, most of which I didn't watch, which is good because it means I'm not jaded from over-exposure and bad because if I didn't watch the other versions, why would I watch this one? Both of these shows are intriguing, neither knocked my socks off. So I'm in wait-and-see mode. I have time ... Weeds has taken a startlingly dark turn, and The Shield is The Shield, so it's not like there's nothing to watch.

Oh, and for those who like to count Oz actors, Fringe has two. Generation Kill had one, which I guess I forgot to mention.
