White Oleander features a lot of great acting, and that's pretty much it. The story is unbelievable, the ending sux ... it's just not much of a movie. But the acting keeps you watching anyway. Michelle Pfeiffer is wonderfully bad; somehow those perfectly beautiful blue eyes get progressively scarier as the movie rolls along. Renee Zellweger is lovely as usual, and Alison Lohman, who I hadn't seen before, is the best thing in the picture as the central character who gets to emote when the bigger stars are off the screen. Not really recommended, but good if you like acting.
