Germany were back to being their old efficient self. Argentina had a lot of possession, but rarely looked like scoring. Messi played like someone who still had the flu. Germany took advantage of a shaky Argentine defense, and that was that. When it was 1-0, I had to use the bathroom, but I waited. When it was 2-0, I wondered why I didn’t just press pause and do my duty. When it was 3-0, I said fuck it and went downstairs without bothering to press pause. When I got back, it was 4-0. German fans are rightly delighted, Maradona haters can gloat. If Spain can get past Paraguay, they’ll meet Germany in the semis. Too bad Italy is out … they could all have a fascist reunion.
I thought it would have been a lot Klose.

Maybe the flu made Argentina Messi their pants.

How is Germany-Spain not a fascist (albeit not Axis) reunion?

Yeah, I wasn't making any sense. I meant Germany, Italy and Spain could have a reunion. Was stupid, anyway ... the most infamous blending of totalitarianism and the World Cup came in 1978, when the tournament was held in Argentina during the Dirty War. Kissinger attended that one.
